Biography

Maria Perticone is a postdoc fellow in Internal Medicine at the Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro, Italy. Prior to this, she attended the Internal Medicine Department as a resident and she obtained the bachelor in Medicine in 2004. In April 2017 she achieved the National Scientific Abilitation for Associate Professor in Internal Medicine. Her fields of interest are cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, especially type-2 diabetes mellitus; she focused her attention on both the laboratory and clinical aspects of cardio-metabolic diseases a. Maria has both clinical and research experience in this field, also documented by her partecipation to several national and international congresses and conferences as a speaker. She is a member of the Italian National Society of Internal Medicine. She participated to several multicentric protocols as co-investigator. She participated to several projects funded by the European Community. She is member of the Editorial Board and peer-reviewer of many journals in the fields of cardiology and metabolic disorders. She is author of 54 papers published on international indexed journal.
