Dr. Almeida-Pereira is a faculty member of the Department of Physiology of the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto of University of São Paulo, Brazil. She undertook her MSc and PhD in the Department of Physiology in the same university. Dr. Almeida-Pereira is Veterinarian graduated from Federal University Rural of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Throughout her scientific career she has contributed to the role of the central nervous system (CNS) in control the hydromineral balance, with special emphasis on the role of estradiol on the neural pathways involved in this homeostatic regulation.
Dr. Almeida-Pereira is interested in research articles and review concerning hormone-brain-behavior relationships and sexually dimorphic aspect. She has developed research in the field of physiology, with special emphasis on neuroendocrine mechanisms, brain-behavior, dimorphism sex and cellular signaling. She has experience in cellular signaling pathways, hypothalamus-hypophysis axis, neurohypophysis hormones, renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, serotoninergic system, estradiol, atrial natriuretic peptide, thirst and sodium appetite.
