Born in Odessa, currently is professor of suicidology and behavioral genetics at the chair of clinical psychology of the Institute of Information and Social Technologies of Odessa National Mechnikov University. Prof. Rozanov is a specialist in mental health promotion, a leader of several international projects dedicated to mental health of young and elderly, author of more than 300 published articles, chapters and books. He is also a leader of the Human Ecological Health NGO and popular lecturer and educator. In 2000-2007 he has been involved as a Ukrainian Director in the Swedish-Ukrainian project on suicide attempts genetics (GISS). The results of the project have contributed to better understanding of genetic basis of stress vulnerability and suicidal propensity. In 2011-2012 Prof. Rozanov has organized and implemented a project on evaluation of adolescents’ mental health in Odessa, which was utilizing technologies of the EU international project SEYLE. The results of this project have replicated some key findings of the SEYLE project.
In 2013-2015 he has organized and implemented an international project in which a team of mental health and pedagogy specialists from Sweden, Ukraine and Russian Federation have been training young enthusiasts in several countries who are involved in educational initiatives for older people, like Senior Universities, LLL-centers, etc. This project helped to accumulate interesting and positive experience how interests of younger and older generations may be concerted around the problem of mental health promotion, brain training, information technologies introduction for adults and empowerment of older people in general.
