Dr Hirsh Koyi works as Associate Professor of Respiratory Medicine at Department of Respiratory Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Uppsala University and Gävle Hospital, Sweden. He received the Medical degree from Medical School, University of Lund, in 1991, Sweden, attained the Ph.D. degree in 2001 (degree: excellent) at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden and gained full qualification as specialist in Pulmonary Medicine in 1999 and in Internal Medicine in 2003. Since 1998 is a member of The Swedish Lung Cancer Study group, being as an expert at Swedish Health Fare. Working now a s Senior Consultant at Gävle Hospital and supervisor for 5 Ph.D. students. His research and scientific fields of interest include Lung Cancer and COPD. The field of Lung Cancer includes association between infection and Lung Cancer, biomarkers, early diagnosis, chemotherapy in elderly. The field of COPD includes the association between orophageal dysphagia and risk for COPD exacerbation and mortality, impact of air pollution in COPD. Dr Koyi is a programme Director since 4 years. He has published a lot of papers in international medical journals indexed in PubMed.
