Dr Mariusz Chabowski is a practicing surgeon in the Department of Surgery of the 4th Military Teaching Hospital in Wroclaw, Poland. In 1994 he graduated Wroclaw Medical University. He completed his residency in thoracic surgery in 2001, and in general surgery in 2016. In 1998-2009 he worked as senior assistant in Department of Surgery, National Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases Research Institute, Warsaw, Poland (www.igichp.edu.pl). In 2000 he wrote his doctoral thesis titled: The evaluation of the results of the surgical treatment of the patients in stage IIIA (N2 disease) non-small cell lung cancer as well as the influence of the postoperative thoracic radiotherapy and the predictive factors. His tutor was professor Tadeusz M. Orlowski. Since 2009 he has been working as senior assistant in Surgery Department, 4th Military Teaching Hospital, Wroclaw, Poland (www.4wsk.pl). Since 2014 he has been working as lecturer at Wroclaw Medical University, Faculty of Health Science (www.umed.wroc.pl). He is author and co-author of 62 scientific papers according to PubMed. His impact factor score is 47.051, his number of citations - 1387, and his Hirsch index – 6. He is reviewer and members of Scientific Board of various medical journals. He is an active member of Polish Society of Cardiothoracic Surgeons (PTKT), European Respiratory Society (ERS), European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS), and the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC).
