Dr. Zeena Nackerdien is an Independent Science Communications Specialist and former Senior Research Associate at the Rockefeller University in New York. She received her PhD from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa and worked at several institutions, including the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, Maryland and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York. She has identified free-radical-induced fingerprints of DNA damage produced following exposure of bacteria and human cells to different toxicants. She has also authored several peer-reviewed academic publications and edited clinical manuscripts in infectious and respiratory diseases.
