Dr. Ryan is a nurse practitioner, professor and researcher from Buffalo, NY. Dr. Ryan is an associate professor at Daemen College, Amherst, NY where she teaches in both the undergraduate and graduate nursing program. Dr. Ryan is certified in the field of adult-gerontology and family nurse practitioner practice. She received both her Masters in Adult Primary Care and PhD from the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York. On receipt of her PhD, she was listed in the Who’s Who Among Students In American Universities And Colleges, 2010. She received her Family Nurse Practitioner Degree from St. John Fisher College, Rochester, NY. Her main areas of research interest are advance directives and simulation in nursing education
Her research interests primarily involve advance directives and simulation in graduate nursing education. She has utilized the Knowledge, Attitudinal, and Experiential Survey on Advance Directives in several different studies involving various nursing groups. She also worked on creating various simulation scenarios which were implemented with nurse practitioner students to enhance their understanding of women’s health clinical problems. She has a particular interest in the methodologies of quantitative and survey research.
