Biography

Dr. Ngiambudulu M. Francisco is a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Immunology, Zhongshan School of Medicine at Sun Yat-sen University, China. He completed his PhD in Clinical Science and Immunology on “the immunopathogenesis of tuberculosis” at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. From 2014 to 2015, he was employed as a postdoctoral scientist in the Division of Immunology of the University of Cape Town, South Africa; and was awarded the prestigious Harry Crossley postdoctoral fellowship. He is member of several professional organizations including the South African Immunological Society (SAIS), Federation of African Immunological Societies (FAIS), International Society for Infectious Diseases (ISID), African Society for Laboratory Medicine (ASLM), and International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS).


Research Interest

Dr. Francisco is interested in immune response, host-pathogen interactions, biomarkers, and TB diagnosis.
