Dr Bella Mehta is a Rheumatology Fellow at Hospital for Special Surgery, New York. She is a skilled rheumatologist focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of complex and difficult-to-treat autoimmune and autoinflammatory syndromes including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus and adult onset Stillís disease. Dr. Mehta is actively involved as an investigator in numerous clinical studies focusing on autoimmune conditions.She received her MBBS, the equivalent of an MD, from the Terna Medical College in India. Since then Dr. Mehta has completed a research fellowship in rheumatology at the Lincoln Medical and Health Center and a residency in internal medicine at the Westchester Medical Center of the New York Medical College. She is currently a fellow in rheumatology at the Hospital for Special Surgery while simultaneously working toward a Masters in Patient Oriented Research at the Mailman School of Public Health.
Her research interests are focused in epidemiology and improving outcomes in patients with rheumatologic conditions. She has specifically worked on improving cardiovascular outcomes in these patients.
