Dr Sunil Kumar Karna is an Assistant Professor cum Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at the B M Patel Cardiac Centre, Shri Krishna Hospital, Karamsad, Anand, Gujarat(INDIA). He is an MBBS Gold Medallist from Calcutta University, India, and did his MD (Internal Medicine) and DM (Cardiology) from the prestigious Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh; one of the premier medical institutes of the country. Dr. Karna was trained at the 200-bed Advanced Cardiac Centre of PGIMER. He has experience and expertise in Radial and Peripheral Angioplasty, Carotid Angioplasty, Renal Angioplasty, Coil Embolisation of AV Fistula & Feeding Arteries, Percutaneous Interventions for Structural Heart Disease, Percutaneous Transvenous Mitral Commissurotomy, Balloon Aortic Valvotomy, Balloon Pulmonary Valvotomy, and Structural Heart Defects Closure (ASD/PDA). He has been actively involved in many national and multinational clinical trials. He is actively involved in Postgraduate teaching program at the medical college . He has publications in national and international journals and has presented posters in international conferences as well, including TCT 2016 held in Washington DC. He is also acting as reviewer for some of the journals. One of his research was awarded as best Poster among many at ” American College of cardiology Extended Learning (ACCEL) program” at Muscat, Oman. He has also been in Expert Panel in some National Conferences.
Dr Sunil Kumar Karna research interests are: include Acute Coronary Syndrome, Congestive cardiac failure, Rheumatic Heart Disease, Cardiomyopathy among others. He is very active in raising health awareness in the community by holding community talks and health awareness programs and also has been instrumental in conducting CME for internists and cardiologists.
