Federico Amianto graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1996, obtained the Specialization in Psychiatry in 2001. Since 2002 he is a research at the Regional Expert Center for Eating Disorders (EDs) of the Department of Neurosciences of the University of Turin. In 2006 he became time-limited Medical Director Psychiatrist at ASL6 Cirie (TO). In 2007 he was hired for a fixed-term by the AOU San Giovanni Battista of Torino at the Center for EDs, confirmed indefinitely in December 2012. In January 2009 he became Head of the outpatient service of the Regional Expert Center for EDs and of the Laboratory of Family and Adolescent Psychopathology of the University of Turin. Since 2009 he is professor and tutor for students of the School of Specialization in Psychiatry at the University of Turin. In May 2012 he obtained the doctorate in Psychiatry. Since 2013 he is tutor of the PhD Program in Neuroscience. In october 2016 he become Associate Professor of the Neurosciences Department of the University of Turin and teaches Psychiatry at Medicine and Psychology students.
Federico Amianto participated in several research projects sponsored through competitive calls regarding the psychobiological aspects of personality, psychopathology and neuroimaging in the EDs, the psychopathology of family and adolescence, psychotherapy and rehabilitation treatments in mental disorders, particularly in EDs. Since 2009 he activated international research collaborations with professors from the University of Rotterdam (NL) and Ottawa (CA) regarding the developmental psychopathology and adolescence, attachment and neuroimaging. Federico Amianto is co-editor of three international journals in the field of eating disorders, neuroscience and psychopathology. Through the research activity produced more than 100 publications, including 72 with impact factor, reaching a total IF of more than 160, 1624 citations and an H-index of 24.
