I’m Associate Professor of Physiology and Pathophysiology at Department of Health, University of Los Lagos, Osorno, Chile. I´m Biochemist and hold a PhD in Biological Sciences (with mention in Physiological Sciences) from the P. Catholic University of Chile. My research addresses neural reflexes involved in the fine-tuning of cardiorespiratory interplay to maintain an appropriate oxygen delivery to the tissues during systemic inflammation. I have over 40 peer-reviewed journal/conferences publications and two books chapters. I am also peer-reviewer for several international journals publications. I´m president of the Scientific Ethics Committee (CEC) of the Universidad de Los Lagos and member of the Chilean Society of Physiological Sciences
My research interests are: neural reflex arcs involved in cardiorespiratory regulation, electrocardiographic analysis and cardiac axis interpretation, serum markers of myocardial damage and systemic inflammation. Ethics in scientific research.
