She received her MSc. degree in Michigan State University in 1997 and Ph.D. degree in North Carolina State University in 2001. She completed her thesis “Estimators for generalized linear measurement error models with interaction terms” with her advisor Professor Leonard A. Stefanski. She has been teaching so many courses in many departments besides department of statistics like econometric, theory of statistics, theory of probability, statistical methods in clinical trials, biostatistics, categorical data analysis, linear models, design of experiments, mathematical statistics, statistics and probability for scientist and engineers, demography, explanatory data analysis, statistics for economists, regression analysis, etc. She is also interested in interdisciplinary studies such chemistry, pharmacy, dentistry etc. She has couple of graduate students to study with. She desires to teach more people and research more about Measurement Error Models. She has also administrative and coordinating duties in the department. Rukiye is married and has two children. Her research interests lie in the area of theory of statistics, linear models, categorical data analysis, ranging from theory to design of analysis, biostatistics, econometrics, especially measurement error models and applications to health sciences. She has been working with a group about forensic dentistry. She has been published some papers about age determination in dentistry and a book named “Primary Tooth Development in Infancy, A Text and Atlas”.
