Mitesh Shrestha is an avid researcher and an enthusiastic biotechnologist with almost half a decade of research experience. He is currently employed as a Researcher at Research Institute for Bioscience and Biotechnology, Kathmandu, Nepal. Apart from research experience, he has guided several graduate students in their dissertation work. He is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Dirghayu Biotech and Research Center Pvt. Ltd as well as the Executive Board Member of Research Institute for Bioscience and Biotechnology. He is an international member of several world renowned societies including but not limited to American Society for Microbiology, Society for Applied Microbiology, International Society for Infectious Diseases and others. He is also the consortium member of Human Variome Project. He is the program initiator of Innovative Disease Surveillance Network for Nepal. He has several publications on the topics related with cancer biology, metabolic engineering as well as infectious diseases. He also has presented his papers in several National as well as International conferences and has conducted laboratory trainings on natural product discovery as well as molecular biology for professionals as well as students. He is currently working on isolation of novel antimicrobials from Streptomyces collected from various regions of Nepal.
