Emy Elizabeth Varughese graduated from Rajiv Gandhi College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Puducherry, India and then went on to pursue her Masterís in Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics from Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Punjab, India. Her research project was on the assessment of vascularisation to ovarian structures and its correlation with fertility in dairy animals using Doppler ultrasonography. She loved her experience with cattle and buffaloes and the warmth of the dairy farmers. She then moved to Canada to pursue an additional Masters from the Department of Veterinary Biomedical Sciences, Western College of Veterinary Medicine, Saskatchewan, Canada. This involved developing an animal model for endometriosis in women which was in collaboration with the College of Medicine. Her Masters in Canada gave her experience in performing anaesthesia and abdominal surgery on dogs, sheep and pigs along with imaging modalities like MRI, CT, ultrasound and a few cases of PET-CT on dog and sheep. Emy also completed her ECFVG (Education Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates) certification and is currently licensed as a veterinarian in Ohio, USA. Emy lives with her husband in Columbus, Ohio. Emy enjoys hiking, photography, skiing with her adventure- driven husband, painting, bowling, go-karting, pretty much anything that is fun. Emy also volunteers at the Ohio Wildlife Centre as a Wildlife Educator and assists Kindergarten and grade 2 teachers at Harambee Christian School (PS. The kids love me).
