Fauzan Saputra is a Child and Adolescent's Psychiatric Nursing practitioner at the Clinic for Children with Special Needs in Lhokseumawe City, Aceh Province, Indonesia. Recognized as the first Child and Adolescent's Psychiatric nurse in Indonesia, he becomes one of nursing therapists in the clinic and mostly treats children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). He is also a faculty member at STIKes Bumi Persada Lhokseumawe, one of well-known health colleges in Lhokseumawe, as Head of Psychiatric Nursing Department. In addition, he is also responsible for Mental Health and Drug Addiction Program and HIV-AIDS prevention program at the Public Health Office of Lhokseumawe. Fauzan Saputra was study at the University of Indonesia, first undertaking his B.Sc. in Nursing and continued his study at Chulalongkorn University and received his MNS in Psychiatric Nursing, especially for Child and Adolescent population. Fauzan Saputra's clinical work deals chiefly with screening and early detection of children and adolescents with mental health problems, such as ADHD, conduct problems, depression, as well as sexual and non-sexual abuse, and family therapy. Besides, Fauzan Saputra is also a social activist, volunteering for severe mental health problems' patients as a founder of Peudab Lhokseumawe, a Non-Government Organization (NGO) which focuses on patient and family affected by Schizophrenia, in delivering donation such as scholarship for children and venture capital for patients to support their financial condition.
His research interest primarily is in psychiatric nursing, mostly focus on mental health promotion and prevention, and rehabilitation process of people with mental health problems. His earlier publications describe about stigmatization on patients with schizophrenia for having poor appearances and abandoned by their families. Most recently, his research interest was relevant to evaluate factors related to mental health problems in school-aged children with mental health problems in Aceh province, and he found that mostly the children have emotional problems and related factors such as academic competence, family relationship, and maternal parenting stress. Fauzan Saputra is also an international editor and reviewer for numerous journals related to psychiatric problems, not only limited to children and adolescents' population, but also adults who experience mental health problems, and has published some papers in areas of Schizophrenia and other mental health problems.
