Dr. Florence Mbiya Muadi is Professor in the Faculty of Psychology and Education of the University of Kinshasa. Doctor Florence Mbiya Muadi was trained at the University of Kinshasa from where she graduated in psychology, a clinical option. She will undertake doctoral training at the Doctoral School of Health and Society at the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium. She has Perfect Clinical Practice for Psychiatric Care of Children and Adolescents, within the Department of Pedopsychiatry of the Saint Luc University Clinics (Brussels). In 2013 she defended her doctoral thesis on the theme of "Attachment and interactive capacities of young Congolese children abandoned in residential institutions". She thus obtained the title of doctor of medical sciences from the Catholic University of Louvain, option Psychology of the child and the adolescent. Dr. Mbiya Muadi Florence is now an Associate Professor at the University of Kinshasa, author of articles on the subject of her research. She holds the flesh of Psychology of Child and Adolescent and Psychopathology of Child and Adolescent. Member of a few scientific societies to know: the Board of Directors of the European Association of Psychopathology of Child and Adolescent / collaboration-Africa, the African Society of Mental Health, and the Belgian Society of Psychiatry and Psychiatry Associated Disciplines of Childhood and Adolescence.
Her interests for Research and Training are in the field of child and adolescent psychology, mother-child relationship, child and adolescent psychopathology, child attachment and development, The development of the child victim of violence and the resilience in the abandoned child. She collaborates with Belgian colleagues in the project to improve the care of Infant and Juvenile Psychiatry by strengthening research within the framework of an interuniversity network between the University of Kinshasa and other university courses from the country. Currently, at the Center Neuro Psychopathologie of the University of Kinshasa, a unit of research and care in child psychiatry begins under the direction of Dr. Florence Mbiya Muadi.
