Miroslav Dostal M.D, DSc. I have graduated in 1964 at the Faculty of General Medicine, Charles University, Prague I have spent 50 years at the Institute of Experimental Medicine, Czech Aademy of Sciences, Prague, where I got the title DrSc. In the years 1966 -1985 I was involved in studies in the field of experimental teratology and later I focused on developmental immunotoxicology, i.e. on studies of postnatal ffects of prenatal influences on the postnatal development and efficiency of the immune responses. In epidemiological and ecotoxicological studies I was also using flow cytometry.I took part in epidemiological studies done in the frame of research pro ject of the Teplice programme on the population of children exposed to polluted environment in the Teplice district and on relatively less exposed children born and living in the district of Prachatice of the Czech Republic. I also took part in the European project UFIREG by analyzing association of ultrafine particles in ambient air with morbidity and mortality of inhabitants of Prague. My recent activities have been concerned with the health and morbidity of children born and living in more or less polluted areas of the Czech republic.
