Biography

Dr. Ana Estévez is senior lecturer of Psychology at the Department of Personality, Psychological Assessment and Treatment of the University of Deusto. She also teaches at the General Health Psychology Master, Social Psychology Master and Drug Dependence Master of the University of Deusto. She is the director of the General Health Psychology Master. She has worked as a psychotherapist and she has been in charge of a behavioral addiction’s center, particularly, gambling. She has been the person responsible for the child and youth area of Deusto Psych as well. Her doctoral thesis addressed the cognitive factors of depression. Further on, she investigated about violence and social-emotional aspects related to mental health. In recent years


Research Interest

her research interests are addictive behaviors, cognitive and emotional processes, and early maladaptive experiences. As a result, she has published several international papers and participated in multiple intervention forums. She has received international and national research awards. She contributes to numerous projects, some at European level, and she participates on the Observatory of Gambling in Spain. She is the chair of a variety of scientific advisory boards, on the editorial board for a number of journals.
