He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zulia, Venezuela in 1996. He obtained his training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Central Hospital "Dr. Urquinaona", Venezuela. He received his doctorate in 2005 and in 20012 at the University of Alcalá, Spain, with Cum Laude qualification. He is an active member of the assistance and teaching staff of the Central Hospital "Dr. Urquinaona ", Venezuela. At present, he is member of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Director of the Department of Research and Development in Maternal-Fetal Health of this institution. He has received numerous international awards and recognition, including recognition as a Latin American Distinguished Professor in Perinatal Medicine of the Latin American Federation of Perinatology. He is the principal investigator of several projects for the National Research Council and Ministry of Health of Venezuela. He is a member of the Venezuelan Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology, International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Spanish Society of Gynecology and Gynecology and the Latin American Federation of Perinatology. He is the author and co-author of about 300 international publications in several countries in the field of obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, perinatal medicine, fetal diagnosis, and ultrasound. He has written more than 12 chapters in international medical books.
