Geraldine Canny is a specialist in mucosal immunity and epithelial biology, inflammation and pro-resolution lipids as well as steroid hormone signaling and metabolism. She graduated with an honours B.Sc. in Biotechnology at University College Galway and subsequently carried out a PhD in intestinal immunology and epithelial biology at University College Dublin. This was followed by a post-doctoral fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston and an instructorship at Harvard Medical School. At Lausanne University Hospital, as head of a research unit and senior lecturer Dr. Canny established a translational research programme on endometrial biology and endometriosis and contributed to education and training programmes. At the Geneva foundation for medical education and research she continued collaborations to better understand the pathology of endometriosis and contributed to education programmes. She currently works in Research Affairs at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne.
