Assoc. Prof. Zeliha KOC was born in Samsun in 1971. She graduated from Istanbul University Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing in 1995. She completed her master's degree in 1998 in Istanbul University Institute of Health Sciences the Department of Teaching in Nursing. She completed her Ph.D. in Marmara University Institute of Health Sciences the Department of Fundamental of Nursing and graduated from this program in 2003. She worked as a nurse in the operating room, chest diseases, and coronary intensive care units for 10 years. In 1998, her work as a lecturer started at Ondokuz Mayıs University. She received the titles of assistant professor in 2004 and associate professor in 2013. Throughout her academic life, she worked as the Deputy Director, Subdivision Director, and the Department Head along with several coordinating tasks, board membership, and representment. Currently, she is the Head of the Department of Fundamental of Nursing at Ondokuz Mayıs University, Faculty of Health Sciences. She has been involved in research projects supported by numerous national and international sources and published articles in some national and international scientific journals. As a coordinator, educator and researcher, she took charge in a total of 10 projects including 1 project supported by TÜBİTAK, 5 projects supported by Ondokuz Mayıs University BAP (Scientific Research Projects), and 4 projects supported by the European Union. She has 43 published articles of which 15 are international and 28 are national. She also has a total of 171 declarations presented verbally or as a poster presentation including 62 in international congresses and 109 in national congresses. In her field, she has 2 books along with performing authorship in 10 book chapters. In addition, she is carrying out 5 doctoral and 7 master's thesis counseling tasks along with the previously completed 6 post-graduate thesis counseling. She is married and mother of a daughter.
She is interested in complementary and alternative medicine, oncology nursing and care of elderly.
