Currently Dr Stoyanov holds the academic position of Full Professor of Psychiatry, Medical Psychology and Person Centered Medicine; Head of the Neuropsychiatry and Brain Imaging Group at the University of Medicine in Plovdiv; honorary lecturer in the Sofia University Faculty of Philosophy, Clinical psychology and counseling program. He is also Vice President of the Bulgarian Academy of Science and Arts, Chairperson of the Science Division. Vice President of the European Association for Person Centered Health Care (ESPCH); Vice Chair Philosophy Special Interest Group at the Royal College of Psychiatrists, London, UK; Visiting Fellow, Center for Philosophy of Science, University of Pittsburgh, USA. Awarded Bronze medal of ESPCH for Excellence and Innovations in Person Centered Undergraduate Medical education (2014). Since 2015 Dr Stoyanov is involved as a project partner in the Collaborating Center for Values Based Practice in Health and Social Care, St. Catherine's College, University of Oxford.
