Biography

Dr. Ferlazzo received his medical degree in 1999, his specialization in Neurology in 2004, his PhD in Psychiatric Sciences in 2008, at the University of Messina (Italy). He was Epilepsy Fellow at the Epilepsy Service of Montreal Neurological Hospital and Institute, McGill University, Montreal (Canada), from 1/10/03 to 30/7/04. He worked as Neurologist at EEG Service of the Center Saint-Paul, Hôpital Henri Gastaut, Marseille (France) from 25/6/2007 to 25/11/07. Actually he is Assistant Professor of Neurology at the Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences, Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro (Italy) from November 2010. He is author of 108 articles published in international journals indexed in PUBMED. In 2015, he received an award of € 289.458 from the Ministry of Health, for the project entitled: RApid versus SLOw Withdrawal of antiepileptic monotherapy in two-year seizure-free adult patients with epilepsy (RASLOW Study): a pragmatic multicentre, prospective, randomized, controlled study.


Research Interest

Dr. Edoardo Ferlazzo’s research is mainly focused on Epilepsy (Epileptic encephalopathy; Progressive Myoclonus Epilepsies; comorbidities; treatment). and neurophysiology (video-EEG, polygraphic recordings, long term-monitoring).
