Dr. Himanshu Narayan Singh is presently working as Research Associate on Project entitled “Physiological regulations under hypobaric hypoxia environment of high altitude” at Genomics & Molecular Medicine, CSIR-Institute of Genomics & Integrative Biology, New Delhi. His work includes analysis of next-generation sequencing data generated by different platforms. He pursued his Ph.D. work at Department of Biochemistry, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India and earned his Ph.D. degree from Noida International University, India in 2016. His research was focused on the identification and correlation of non-B DNA structure forming sequences with human diseases and also to explore ligands which can destabilize such structures. Dr. Singh was an Invited Researcher at Department of Medical Chemistry, Medical University of Vienna, Vienna, Austria under DST-WTZ Indo-Austria Project. He has received Research Fellowship from Indian Council of Medical Research. He was also awarded travel grants from Indian and overseas funding agencies to present his research work. Dr. Singh is editorial board member/reviewer of several journals like Austin Journal of Neurological Disorders and Epilepsy, SM Journal of Neurological Disorders, Journal of Applied Biotechnology & Bioengineering, Journal of Solid Tumors etc. In addition, he is life member of two scientific communities namely Society of Neurochemistry India (SNCI) and DNA Society of India (DSI).
Dr. Singh is interested in the identification of DNA elements which can lead to neurological phenotypes and responsible for genetic/physiological changes or unusual DNA structure formation. In addition to this, he also developed software to identify and annotate low-complexity regions. Dr. Singh has published several international peer-reviewed articles and presented his research work in several Indian and overseas’ congresses.
