Biography

Dr. Arpan Kumar Maiti is presently associated with Dayananda Sagar University, Bangalore, India as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at School of Basic and Applied Sciences. His research interest primarily lies in neurobiology (Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s) and neurotoxicology, but his research interest is not limited to neurosciences alone. Presently Dr. Arpan is also engaged in research activities related to mitochondrial dysfunction in ulcerative colitis and infectious diseases especially affecting respiratory system. Dr. Arpan obtained his PhD degree from University of Kalyani, India in 2010 in Physiology. He has got good number of publications in peer-reviewed journals and has presented his research globally. Dr. Arpan is a Fulbright fellow and is associated with University of Gothenburg, Sweden and Tulane University, USA for research activities.


Research Interest

Arpan Kumar Maiti interested in Mitochondrial dysfunction in ulcerative colitis and respiratory diseases, mitochondrial dysfunction in neurobiology (Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and ageing), mitochondrial dysfunction in metal toxicology (neurotoxicology, hepatotoxicolgy and nephrotoxicology).
