Biography

Dr. Naiyer Shahzad earned his Master of Pharmacology from the Hamdard University, New Delhi, India in 2009. He later on pursued his Ph.D. degree at Singhania University, Pacheri Bari, Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, India in Cancer Biology and was awarded Doctor of Philosophy in 2012. Dr. Shahzad then worked as a “senior research fellow” at the Singhania University from January, 2012 to September, 2012. He then joined the Faculty of Medicine, Umm Al-Qura University, Holy Makkah, Saudi Arabia in September 2012 as an “Assistant professor in Pharmacology” and has been working in that capacity since then. He is an active member of the “Curriculum committee” as well as the “Quality control measures of medical education team” at the Umm Al-Qura University. He is also actively involved in many research activities in the Umm Al-Qura University. Dr. Naiyer has authored more than twenty-two peered-reviewed scientific research publications in high impact international journals. He has served as a reviewer in various scientific journals. He is also a member of “Laboratory Animal Science Association of India (LASAI)” which is responsible for promoting laboratory animal science and animal welfare.


Research Interest

Dr. Naiyer Shahzad’s research interests include neuro and psychopharmacology, neurodegenerative diseases and cancer biology.
