Qian Shi, MPH, PhD, gained her master degree in Public Health and doctor degree of Philosophy both from Department of Global Health Management and Policy, School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, Tulane University. She received her bachelor degree in Nursing from School of Nursing at Peking Union Medical College, Beijing, China.
She has various research experiences and wide analytical skills in health services/outcomes analysis, policy research, and program evaluation. Her dissertation topic was about the long-term clinical outcomes associated with the status of triple-goal achievement in patients with diabetes. Her recent published papers were about the effect of Affordable Care Act (ACA) on diabetes mellitus; economic burden of hypoglycemia; racial disparity of eye examinations among people with diabetes. She is currently working on the research projects of QBPC program evaluation with claim data from BCBSLA, and the effect of metformin exposure on neurodegenerative disease among elder adult with Diabetes.
