Dr. Geun Hee Seol is Professor and Director in the Basic Nursing Science, School of Nursing, Korea University in Republic of Korea. She received both her B.S. (1996) in Nursing from Korea University and Ph.D. (2004) in Physiology from Ewha Womans University School of Medicine. Before coming to Korea University in 2006 she was a postdoctoral fellow at Johns Hopkins University in the field of Neuroscience from 2004-2006. Her major research focuses on the regulation mechanisms of aromatic natural compounds on cardiovascular risk factors in the pathological condition using animal models of hypertension and stress. In addition, the effects of aromatic natural compounds on depressive symptoms and cardiovascular risk factors in patients with hypertension and depression have been studied. The ultimate goal of her study is to see if the control of hypertension and depression by aromatic natural compounds can regulate the causes of chronic stress-induced cardiovascular diseases.
