Doctor Nada CHARFI, assistant professor of psychiatry in the department of psychiatry in Hedi Chaker university hospital in Sfax (Tunisia). My clinical work deals chiefly with the diagnosis and treatment of adults suffering fron schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, mood and anxiety disorders and psychosomatic disorders providing expert diagnostic assessment, and pharmacological treatment as well as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I have also a certificate in sexology, forensic psychiatry, addiction studies and adolescent health. As a professor in the faculty of medicine, I have developed many training programs for both students and residents in psychiatry in the areas of clinical psychiatry, pharmacology, communication, cognitive and behavioral therapy.
My research primarily involves examining the psychological manifestations associated with the neurological diseases, mood disorders after cancer, somatic comorbidity in psychiatry and its impact of the course of mental illness. My interest has involved examining the medicolegal responsability of patients suffering from mood disorders. I am also studying the psychoactive substance consumption among adolescents in Tunisia and the individual and environmental factors predicting this behavior.
