Dr. Jaime S. Guerrero attended University of Cartagena, School of Dentistry, in Colombia where he earned his dental degree in 1993. He completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency and received his certificate of proficiency at Pontificia Javeriana University, Schools of Medicine and Dentistry in 2000. Thereafter, Dr. Guerrero completed a one-year clinical rotation in Maxillofacial Tumor and Reconstructive Surgery under Dr. Eric Carlson at University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital in 2001. Dr. Guerrero built a successful oral and maxillofacial surgery and dental implants practice in Bogota D.C, in addition to joining University El Bosque, University of Cartagena and University Antonio Nariño’s dental faculties as undergraduate and postgraduate lecturer and clinical professor. Upon coming to Canada, Dr. Guerrero completed a Master's of Health Sciences (MHSc) degree in Bioethics at the renowned Joint Centre for Bioethics, University of Toronto, in 2011. Thereafter, Dr. Guerrero re-qualified his dental degree for certification as a dentist in Canada in 2014. Dr. Guerrero is member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, the Ontario Dental Association, the Canadian Dental Association, the Colombian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Guerrero is licensed as a general practitioner in Ontario, Canada, which permits him to perform oral surgery procedures. His clinical practice focuses on wisdom teeth and complicated surgical extractions, dental implants surgery and bone grafting and regeneration procedures. In addition to his practice in Ontario, Dr. Guerrero remains active as oral and maxillofacial surgeon and as academic in Colombia, and travels regularly to treat patients with dentofacial deformities, jaw defects and TMJ disorders as well as to lecture on the topics of dental implants and reconstructive surgery.
