Biography

Sritatath Vongkulsiri, MD has been a clinical ophthalmologist specializing in vitreoretinal disease since 2009. He is faculty member at Department of Ophthalmology, Phramongkutklao Hospital where is the military medical college in Thailand. He is involved in serving the eye patients and instructing medical student and resident in general ophthalmology and vitreoretinal disease. Dr. Vongkulsiri received a Doctor of Medicine degree from Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand with the first class honors. He completed internship and ophthalmology residency at Srinagarind Hospital, Khonkaen University and vitreoretinal fellowship at Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University. He has been funded to be a medical retina research fellowship at Vitreous Retina Macula Consultants of New York, LuEsther T. Mertz Retinal Research Center between 2013-2014 under supervision of Dr. Richard Spaide and Dr. Lawrence Yannuzzi. He also observed Drs. Shields in Ocular Oncology Clinic, Wills Eye Hospital, Philadelphia for a short time. Dr. Vongkulsiri has special interest in ophthalmic imaging, macular diseases, retinal vascular diseases and diabetic retinopathy."


Research Interest

He is currently working on retinal imaging especially OCT technology; OCT, OCTA as a diagnostic tool and monitoring macular disease. Polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV), diabetic maculopathy, retinal vascular disease treatment paradigms are in his fields. Surgical technique improvement particularly in scleral fixation IOL are also in his interest
