Dr: Anthony M. Kyriakopoulos, having graduated from a BSc(Hons) degree with First Class in Biomedical Sciences (University of Westminster London), has obtained a post-graduate, Master of Science degree in Medical Microbiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (Faculty of Medicine, University of London). Continuing medical and research studies he has obtained a Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in 2000 (Medical School, University of Athens). At that period he became Associate Member of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences (UK). Specializing in Clinical Microbiology and Molecular Mycobacreriology, he has set up molecular diagnosis of PCR in University Hospitals of Athens, and molecular typing of mycobacterial infections as an essential tool for Hellenic Community Center on a National Scale. Continuing research activities he has specialized in Molecular Genetics of Ageing and Senescence, and Molecular Genetics of Cancer at the National Hellenic Research Foundation (NHRF) where he obtained the title of Research Professor B (equivalent to Associate Professor). Over the last 10 years he has developed his current specialty in Drug Discovery and Development. Focusing in Taurine and Taurine Derivatives Clinical Research he has developed with Senior Colleques the Biomedical Applications Unit for pre-clinical evaluation of Nbromotaurine as a candidate medicine to cure infectious disease, autoimmunity and cancer. Complementary, continuing pharmacognosy research he has obtained three patents and one more pending which focus on medicinal preparation technology of naturally existing drugs. For these scientific purposes he has founded the Hellenic Taurine Society and Nasco A.D. Bioechnology Laboratory which is a private organization. Nasco A.D. Biotech. Lab. conducts pre-clinical and clinical evaluations on future natural drugs to equip the arsenal of medicine with highly effective agents destined to combat infectious diseases, autoimmunity syndromes and cancer. He publishes in respectable scientific journals with high impact factor and contributes in a plethora of scientific congresses.
