Professor Gilberto Del Boccio, a graduate of L'Aquila University (1972) and Chieti University (1979) both Biologist and Medicine, began his career as a quality of biological chemistry assistant (197380). He worked for 35 years at Chieti University in Institute of Biochemical Sciences (198093) teaching propaedeutical biochemistry (197393) and afterwards in Department of Biomedical Sciences, accepting a full-time as a Aggregate Professor teaching Clinical Biochemistry and Clinical Molecular Biology at Faculty of Medicine (199309). He obtained his Masters in Technical Management in Medical Laboratory (Tor Vergata University Rome, 1993). During this career, Professor Del Boccio has published a number of articles on glutathione transferases (GSTs) purification from human tissues, on glutathione related enzyme levels in normal and neoplastic tissues, on antioxidant defence mechanism variations in different animal models and on cysteine role in redox form of GST Pi. From 2004 to 2009, he has published a number of articles on clinical aspects of mycoplasmal and chlamydial infections, attending and participating in local and international meetings, workshops and conferences. From 2009 professor Gilberto Del Boccio is retired but continues to attend to clinical aspects of mycoplasmal and chlamydial infections.
