His B. Tech. in Dairy Technology from West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences, Kolkata in 1999; M.Sc.(2002) and Ph.D. (2006) in Dairy Microbiology from ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, Haryana, India. Presently working as Senior Scientist in Dairy Microbiology Division of the Institute. Specialization in Dairy and Food Microbiology. Ten years of teaching and research experiences. Currently doing research in the area of functional food and dairy products incorporating live probiotics, microencapsulation of probiotics, technology of functional lactic cultures for fermented and non-fermented dairy products. Actively engaged with different external and in house research projects. Regularly teach to undergraduate and post graduate students of Dairy Technology and Dairy Microbiology. Guided 12 Master and 2 doctoral scholars, and currently guiding 05 doctoral and one master scholars. Developed several teaching laboratory manuals for undergraduate and postgraduate microbiology courses. Published several research, review and popular articles in national and international journals. Also published several book chapters and teaching reviews in various training programme. Attended various national and international conferences, seminars, symposiums, workshops, presented papers and posters. Received several awards for best papers and posters/ presentations. Attended various advanced training programme and organized training programme for industry personnel and academicians. Member of several scientific organization and societies. Regular paper setter/ moderator and evaluator for various microbiology courses at undergraduate and postgraduate degrees for several universities/ institutions, reviewer of national and international journals.
