Dr Faryal Khamis completed medical school training at the Sultan Qaboos University in Oman in 1993. Following a residency program in Internal Medicine at University of Minnesota in 1999 she did fellowships in Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology at Duke University Medical Center. Dr Khamis worked as ID consultant in Sultan Qaboos Hospital from 2002 to 2008. She is currently Senior Consultant and the head of Infectious Diseases Department at Royal Hospital in Muscat, Oman. She chairs the Infection Prevention and Control Committee. Dr Faryal Khamis has several publications in scientific journals.
