Katie Moraes de Almondes is graduate in Psychology in 1997 with specialization in Health Psychology (focus in Urgence) and Clinical Psychology (Psychodinamics and Behavioral Cognitive Therapy). I have completed my master (20010 and Ph.D (2007) in Psychobiology at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. I have completed my Post-Ph.D at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, and University of Salamanca, Spain. Actually, I am Professor of the Department of Psychology at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, Brazil. Coordinator of Sleep Clinic - Ambsono, Coordinator of the Service of Neuropsychology of Aging, and Coordinator of Emergence Psychology Service RN 192 (Mobile Emergency Service). Coordinator Research Group Applied Neurosciences, Basic Processes and Chronobiology and Research Group Cognitive Neuroscience and Behavioral. President of the Department of Neuroscience of Sleep Behavior at the Brazilian Association of Sleep. Member of the Brazilian Society of Neuropsychology (SBNp). I have experience in Health Psychology, Psychophysiology - Human Chronobiology, Neuropsychology Sleep-Sleep Medicine, Neuropsychology of Aging, Neuroscience and Cognitive Psychology. I have presented conferences in many Congresses throughout Brazil. I have attended the organization of the events of the Brazilian Congress of Neuropsychology and coordinates the Neuropsychology of Aging and Dementia Congress – CONED. As well, she was the Editor of the national scientific journal: Studies in Psycology (Natal). Nowaday, I am a member of the Editorial Board of Trends of Psychology (Brazil), and a regular reviwer for several international journals, such as Revista Iberoamericana de Psicología y salud. I am author of many papers on subjects including sleep and cognition in elderly, and Health Psychology. I am published the book entitled, “Counting Sheep: What you need to know for your evening not to turn into a nightmare” and many chapters about sleep and cognition, for example “Sleep and Aging: against the social clock?”, besides the book Terapia Cognitivo Comportamental para Transtornos do Sono (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Sleep Disorders).
My research interest: sleep neuropsychology, sleep and cognition, interventions related to sleep disorders, sleep and psychology, neuropsychology of aging, health psychology.
