After obtaining his BSc degree and Master degree on Cell and Developmental Biology, Dr. Alonso-Alconada completed his PhD at the University of the Basque Country focusing on the neuroprotective effect of cannabinoids to reduce neonatal hypoxic-ischemic brain injury (Outstanding PhD Thesis Award and mention of Doctor Europeus due to his stay at Università degli studi di Urbino Carlo Bo, Italy). Research Associate in the Preclinical Neonatal Neuroprotection and Neuroscience group at University College London and Visiting Research Associate at King’s College London from 2014 to 2016. Doctor Alonso-Alconada is currently Lecturer in Cell Biology and Human Histology at the University of the Basque Country, Spain and Visiting Research Associate at University College London, UK.
