Dr. Berenice de Ávila Rodrigues received her veterinary degree from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul-Brazil (UFRGS) (1978). She holds a Masters in Veterinary Sciences from UFRGS (1997), and a Ph.D. in Veterinary Sciences at the same University (2003). She completed a post-doctoral study in Biotechniques of reproduction at Veterinary School UFRGS (2011-2013). Her doctoral and post-doctoral research was oocyte in vitro maturation, oocyte in vitro fertilization, and in vitro embryo production in the canine specie. She held a temporary position as Associate professor of Internal Medicine at Veterinary School –UFRGS (2005-2007). She is an independent ultrasonographer and small animal reproduction consultant, working for veterinary clinics in south Brazil. Additionally, she holds a position as a course teacher for ultrasonography at ULTRAMEDIC (http://www.ultramedic.com.br). She has been serving as peer reviewer of Brazilian and international journals. She has attended many national and international conferences, and has held lecture presentations at scientific seminars both in Brazil as abroad. She has published various journal articles, book chapters, and research abstracts. She is a member of The European Veterinary Society for Small Animal Reproduction (EVSSAR) and the Brazilian college of Animal reproduction (CBRA).
