Dr. Hab. Eng. Agnieszka Cydzik-Kwiatkowska has been working in the field of wastewater treatment since she began her scientific career in 2002. In 2006 she received her PhD at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn (Olsztyn, Poland) and in 2015 a degree of doctor habilitatus (Łódz University of Technology, Poland). She is now working in the Department of Environmental Biotechnology at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. She has numerous publications in well-reputed international peer-reviewed scientific journals and is serving as a Reviewer as well as Editorial board member of many scientific journals of high repute. Her research activities fall within the area of environmental biotechnology, in particular waste and wastewater treatment. She investigates nutrient removal from municipal and industrial wastewater, especially using aerobic granular sludge technology and conducts molecular research on species structure and activity of technical biocenoses. Her last research focused on Bisphenol A removal from wastewater and recovery of bioproducts from aerobic granular sludge. Moreover, she is involved in the preparation of practical and theoretical courses within the Engineering and Master Programmes of the University of Warmia and Mazury, including an international program conducted in cooperation with Hochschule Offenburg (Germany). She has been awarded several highly competitive grants and contracts during her scientific career.
