He was born in Bulgaria in 1980 and completed his primary and secondary education in Sofia, Bulgaria. He also spent 1 year in Washington DC, studying in Williamsburg Middle School in 1991-92, where he enriched substantially my knowledge of English language. In 1998 he finished a foreign language-oriented highschool in Bulgaria, with English as first language. In 2004 he successfully obtained a DVM degree at the Forestry University of Sofia and in the same year started his PhD degree studies in veterinary virology at the Ghent University in Belgium, which he successfully completed in early 2010. At the end of 2010 he started as a Post-doctoral researcher oriented in virology of animals and humans at the University of Florida, in the Emerging Pathogens Institute. In 2012 he started a second Post-doctoral study of human oral bacteriology and immunology, and carcinogenesis, at the College of Dentistry of the University of Florida where he worked until the end of 2015. During my PhD and Post-doctoral studies he have authored and co-authored 15 peer-reviewed publications in high-quality journals.
His research interests include but are not limited to: 1)veterinary medicine, 2)virology, 3)bacteriology, 4)immunology, 5)molecular biology 6)cancerogenesis.
