Dr. Liaw is the current President of Society of Emergency & Critical Care Medicine (SECCM), Taiwan, R.O.C. Prof. Liaw currently working as Vice Superintendent at the Tungs’ Taichung MetroHarbor Hospital and jointly appointed Professor at the Department of Anesthesiology, National Defense Medical Center, Taiwan. After graduating from National Defense Medical Center, Taipei, Taiwan in 1987, he completed his residency training in Tri-Service General Hospital, Taipei and got the Board of Anesthesiology in 1992. Then, He received his Ph.D. in Medical Sciences in 1998 from National Defense Medical Center. He was a post-doctoral research fellow in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine from 2002 to 2003. He was the Chairman of Department of Anesthesiology, Tri-Service General Hospital, National Defense Medical Center from 2010 to 2013. In addition, He was the 27th President of Taiwan Society of Anesthesiologists from 2012 to 2014. Dr. Liaw is not only specialized as an anesthesiologist but also an intensivist and instructors of critical care medicine and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS). Currently, Dr. Liaw is the Editor-in-Chief of Resuscitation & Intensive Care Medicine (An official journal of SECCM ). He is also the Supervisor of Taiwan Society for Simulation in Healthcare. He was the Associate Editor of Acta Anaesthesiologica Taiwanica from 2006 to 2014. He was an Executive Boards of Taiwan Society of Critical Care Medicine from 2007 to 2016. He is the Guest Editors of World Journal of Anesthesiology and World Journal of Critical Care Medicine, and is the Editorial Board of ISRN Anesthesiology; Anesthesiology, Dataset Papers in Medicine, and Journal of Anesthesia & Perioperative Medicine. He has more than 90 publications of original articles, case reports, and review papers being published in peer review journals.
