Dr. Júlia Peralta Gonçalves is graduated in Pharmacy, has a Master's degree in Pharmacology and Medicinal Chemistry, and PhD in Sciences from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Brazil. Today, is Adjunct Professor of Parasitology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro - Campus Macaé, and is specialist in the helminthology field.

The research lines of our group include the morphological, ultrastructural, biochemical and molecular characterization of helminths; morphology and ultrastructure of trematodes; chemotherapy of helminths, involving the research of new anthelmintic compounds.
