Biography

"Dr Saadoon-Alishlash is an Assistant Professor at the Pediatric Pulmonary Division, University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). He was graduated from Mosul University. He finished his Pediatric residency at UAB and Jordan University of Science and Technology. He did his Pediatric Pulmonary Fellowship at UAB and Weill Cornell College of Medicine-Qatar. During his fellowship, he was awarded Dixon Fellowship and a grant from the Kaul Pediatric Research Institute. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Thoracic Society, American College of Chest Physicians, American Medical Association. In addition, he is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health - London and Founder of the Arab Pediatric Pulmonary Association."


Research Interest

"Dr Saadoon-Alishlash lab at the UAB is active in lung development basic and translational research. The main focus is on angiogenesis and pediatric pulmonary hypertension. Other research publications include: CF microbiome, FeNO and the relation of exhaled nitric oxide with airway bacterial growth, vocal cord dysfunction and asthma, effect of vitamin D deficiency on pulmonary structure and function."
