Dr. Marcella Reale received a Biological Sciences degree from “Alma Mater Studiorum” University of Bologna, Italy and my PhD In Experimental Medicine from “La Sapenza”, University of Rome, Italy. Actually she is a professor of General Pathology and Immunology at “G.d’Annunzio” University Chieti-Pescara, Italy. She has authored of 140 peer-reviewed pubblication and 3 book chapter in neuroimmunology, inflammatory diseases and cytokines. She has many years of experience in research laboratory management and leadership, and she enjoy teaching undergraduate and graduate medicine students at G.d’Annunzio” University. She is referee of 35 National and International Journals, and member of 5 International Editorial Boards, Guest Editor of Journal Anti-Inflammatory and Anti-Allergy Agents in Medicinal Chemistry (AIAAMC); International Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease and Central Nervous System Agents in Medicinal Chemistry.
Marcella Reale’s research is focused on link between neurodegenerative disease and immune system. Her current interests include the modulation of non-neuronal anti-inflammatory pathway of cholinergic system in peripheral blood cells and the mechanisms for a7nAChR–based pathways in establishing production of inflammatory cytokines and M1/M2 polarization as well as possible strategies for new therapeutical intervention. In addition the biological effects of ELF-EMF exposure on neurodegenerative diseases, immune system and inflammatory responses.
