Dr. Arun Jadhao obtained his doctorate degree in Zoology with the theoretical and practical experience of comparative neuroanatomy and neuroendocrinology at RTM Nagpur University, India. He received prestigious fellowship of Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) Foundation of Germany to carry out postdoctoral training at the Department of Neuroanatomy, Georg-August University, Goettingen, Germany and subsequently, worked in the same institute for many years. He had made a novel finding in the field of neuroanatomy and showed anatomically distinct two brain types in both male and female salmon. He contributed in the field of cellular neuroanatomy and demonstrated the presence of galanin, FMRF-amide, nNOS, NADPH-diaphorase, GnRH, GnIH and calretinin in the brain. There are many research paper to his credit. His publications are in the international peer reviewed journals such as Journal of Comparative Neurology, Journal of Chemical Neuroanatomy, International Journal of Developmental Neuroscience, Brain Research, Brain Behavior Evolution, Brain Structure and Function, Neuroscience Letter, Annals of Anatomy, Cell Tissue Research, General and Comparative Endocrinology, Fish Physiology and Biochemistry, Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology, etc. He has been honored with Best Teacher Award in research category by RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur, India.
Currently, Dr. Jadhao’s research is focused on molecular neuroscience and looking for the role of certain calcium binding proteins (CaBPs) in the brain and its relevance to neuronal disorders.
