Dr. Chunyan Qian is a clinical laboratory specialist and parasitologist. She obtained a MD degree from Xiangya School of Medicine, Central South University in 2003, and a MSc degree from Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine in 2007. She joined in Wuxi No. 2 People’s Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University in 2007, and then moved to Jiangsu Institute of Parasitic Diseases (JIPD) as a Research Associate in 2009. In JIPD, she screened and identified a monoclonal antibody (Sj14-3-3) against Schistosoma japonicum, and such an antibody has been proved to have potential values in the diagnosis of human S. japonicum infection and be a promising vaccine candidate. In 2013, she joined in the Shanghai Skin Disease Hospital, and worked on skin and cosmetic research. In 2015, she moved to the Yuhang Branch of The Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, and led a team for the molecular detection. Dr. Chunyan Qian has obtained more than 10 grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Jiangsu Provincial Department of Health, Zhejiang Provincial Department of Health, and she also participated in several national and local scientific research projects. She has published more than 40 articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals, including The Lancet Infectious Diseases. She has been invited to deliver speeches in more than 30 international and national academic conferences. Due to her achievements in the scientific research on medical sciences, she has been awarded by the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government and Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Health.
