Sathish Kumar is a researcher in the Department of Chemical and Bio-molecular engineering at the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology where he has been working since February 2016. His research is being supported by Brain Korea 21 fellowship from National Research Foundation of South Korea. His current area of research is the surface modification of nanoparticles toward improved bactericidal activity. He completed his PhD in space microbiology at Chonbuk National University, South Korea. During his PhD, he studied the morphological and genomic responses of filamentous fungi under simulated microgravity. Sathish did his Masters in Molecular Biology at the Institute of Basic Medical Science, University of Madras where he studied molecular aspects of microorganisms. He completed his undergraduate studies at Christian Medical College Vellore, India. During which he extensively studied the basics of microbiology and specialized in the diagnosis of human diseases caused by microorganisms.
