Biography

Trubiani Oriana is an Associate Professor of Histology and she is head of the laboratory for Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine (Certified ISO 9001:2008) at the Department of Medical, Oral and Biotechnological Sciences of “G. d’Annunzio” University, Chieti, Italy. At the CNR she received a specialization in Biochemical and Morphological Sciences. She is co-author of 83 original papers indexed on PubMed. She has teaching activity in Anatomy and Histology from 1984 to date. She is a co-inventor of a patent: “Lipoxin A4 releasing system using an electrospun membrane” (patent n° 102016000051449). In particular she studied the Terminal Transferase (TdT) and CD-38 expression in lymphoid cells at various stage of differentiation process. Moreover she evaluated nuclear signal transduction, in particular PKC family, in pre-B and pre-T leukemic cells. Current projects are exploring immunomodulatory and therapeutic ability of stem cells derived from oral tissues, in particular from gingival, periodontal ligament and dental pulp tissues.

Research Interest

Trubiani Oriana research is focused on the stem cells biological activity, molecular mechanisms and tissue regeneration using an in vitro and in vivo models. Her latest researches is focused on conditioned medium derived from adult stem cells and their potential use for neurological diseases. She collaborates with chemists and clinicians in order to study biomaterial behavior before the implantation in humans, using in vitro and in in vivo animal models.
