From July 2013 to till date: Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology, K.S Rangasamy College of Arts and Science, Tamil Nadu, India. Dr. Gopalu Karunakaran is graduated in Microbiology, Chemistry and Botany from Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur in 2006. He received his Master degree in Biotechnology from Periyar University, Salem in 2008 and M.Phil Degree in Biotechnology from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore in 2010. He continued his research interest as a Junior Research Fellow in the Centre for Nanoscience and Technology from July 2010 to June 2013 at K. S. Rangasamy College of Technology, Tiruchengode during which, he enrolled for his PhD. He has been awarded a Doctoral degree in Biotechnology from Anna University, Chennai in 2014 and joined as an Assistant Professor in Biotechnology at K.S Rangasamy College of Arts and Science, Tamil Nadu, India. In September 2015, he joined as Young Scientist in the Department of Functional Nanosystems and High-Temperature Materials, National University of Science and Technology “MISiS,” Leninskiy Pr. 4, Moscow, 119049, Russia, in his Post Doctoral programme. His research interest focuses on synthesis of nano particles using plants and microbes; characterization and application of nanoparticles in biomedicine; studying magnetic properties of the nanoparticles and nano composites. To his credit he has 30 publications in peer reviewed International journals and 11 papers in conference proceedings. The total impact factor for his publications as per 2016 is 50.5 with a total citation of 183, h-index of 8 and i10-index of 7.
